The difference between Religion and Spirituality is often confused.
Religion can be defined as an organized system of beliefs and practices that involve rules, rituals and traditions focused on the worship of a deity and often involves a hierarchical leadership.
Where religion focuses mainly on the communal, spirituality refers to the search for a higher meaning beyond the physical and material realm. It is a personal journey of self-discovery, connection with others, nature and the universe. It does not necessarily involve a belief in a specific deity or set of practices. It is more individualistic. It is possible to be both religious and spiritual just as it is possible to be one and not the other.
Our community seeks to expand the awareness of Spirituality through the sharing of stories and experiences that lead to a deeper sense of self, the world and the universe.
